§ 18-59. Weapons prohibited.

(a)

It shall be unlawful for any person to take in a park or recreational facility any weapon, or to use, carry or employ any weapon or similar device in a recreational facility. This subsection shall not apply to firearms. Firearms, are defined by O.C.G.A. § 16-11-171(3) as any weapon that is designed to or may readily be converted to expel a projectile by the action of an explosive or the frame or receiver of any such weapon, any firearm muffler or firearm silencer, or any destructive device as defined in 18 U.S.C. Section 921(a)(3).

(b)

It shall be unlawful for any person to discharge any weapon in a park or recreational facility.
